12 year old ecommerce platform, known brand, DR 56 1996 registered domain. Highest revenue month was $54420 (mainly from custom work). HUGE potential for profit
Key Highlights:
You are buying an entire ecommerce platform that has received huge quantities of time and money invested in upgrading, innovating and marketing over our years of ownership, as well as the huge amount of infrastructure that comes with that (Opensrs, domain, email, SSL, payment gateways etc).
From Stripe alone, the platform has processed over a $1.2million of paid orders for its customers (that’s not accounting for other gateways like PayPal).
Simpleshop.com is a 1996 registered DR 56 domain (check ahrefs yourself, ignore the Flippa ahrefs score which is incorrect) and an amazing brandname. We have turned down generous offers for the domain alone over the years. SEO profile is strong.
When we were most active with the platform, it’s top performing month was $54420 (£40180) which was very very high margin, largely from custom development work generated from SimpleShop customers – building custom themes, plugins and integrations for their stores. It was also more or less our top month for subscription revenue (I will break down both below).
There is huge potential to increase revenue by many multiples by introducing custom theme and plugin work again (we have not done custom work for a few years), and by upping the subscription fees, the lowest of which (£9 a month) has not changed since 2013! £9 per month in 2025 is absolutely ludicrously cheap.
The site is very cheap to run, is not overly dependent on external services (there are literally 5 of which you only actually need 4), and does not require much human input (though if you want to grow and build it you’ll want to put in more than we are at present).
Despite the lack if input, revenue is actually growing year-on-year at the moment (see stripe screenshot).
